Special Tours at the Moravian Historical Society
Moravians & Music
Life in Moravian settlements during the eighteenth century was musically rich and became renowned throughout the country. Moravian composers wrote thousands of vocal works, imported compositions and musical instruments, and, as visitors will see on this tour, they also created some of the first musical instruments of their kind made in America. Visitors will also learn how this love of music created a lasting legacy that continues today.

Tour offered monthly at 1:00 p.m. every second Wednesday and fourth Saturday.

Moravians & the Revolutionary War
Moravians in Pennsylvania had to walk a delicate balancing act between their religious ideals of pacifism and the interests of American patriots, the British government, and Indigenous groups in the region. The Revolutionary War tested their desire for freedom from entanglements with the outside world. Visitors will discover what it was like for Moravians living through the Revolution in this region and the lasting impacts the War had on their way of life.

Tour offered monthly at 1:00 p.m. every first Monday and third Saturday.
